Help with hat

Hi. I am new here. I am knitting a simple beanie for my granddaughter. She has a large head 24 inch circumference and 9 inch length from crown to below ear. I am knitting a 2x2 rib for 4 inches to accommodate a folded up cuff. My question is how many inches do I knit before I start the decrease rounds. So 4 inches folded will be 2 inch cuff and then I knit how many inches before decrease??? She would like it to cover her ears. Thanks to all and Happy Thanksgiving

Welcome to KH!
Usually knitting for 6-7 inches from bottom edge to the beginning of the decreases works well. That would mean about 4-5 inches after the 2 inch cuff should work or 8-9 inches over all from the cast on edge to the beginning of the decreases.
Happy Thanksgiving to you too!

Thank you!

The directions for the hat I am knitting is 4 inches for the ribbing and then another 4 before starting the decreases.

When not folded up, it is a nice slouchy. Male or female.

Thank you🦃

Thanks for the info. I have knitted Jason’s hat. Love the pattern
