Help with eyes!

Hellllp!!! I can not figure out how to stitch these eyes on my angel. I am using a double width of 6 strand embroidery floss. Any pointers? The pic with the eyes is the pattern pic. And I also included a pic of mine.

Your knitting is beautiful. I think French knots should work. The video shows them on crochet but the technique is the same on knitting or woven fabrics.

Thank you for the compliment!! That’s a good idea. But doesn’t that feel too small? I should have mentioned the total length of the doll is 11”.

I don’t know. My best suggestion is try it and see. You wouldn’t have to practice on the doll. Wrapping the thread around the needle more times will make a larger knot. Could you add another strand of embroidery floss or use something thicker, like yarn, for the eyes? What pattern is this? I’d think it should include instructions for making they eyes but we all know how things like that work, or not.

I have some polyester yarn in black that’s pretty crappy yarn but I got it cheap and it works for things like eyes or holding stitches.

I found this article that the pattern creator wrote, so I loosely followed this. I’m not super happy with them…but I know what I’d do differently next time. https://knittingbypost.com/how-to-sew-eyes-to-a-knitted-toy/

All done!

The eyes look perfect, just as the rest of the toy does.

The people here are why I knit. They helped learn how to knit after I finally realized that I can’t throw and figured out Continental on my own. Your eyes give you angel personality, more than the one in the pattern IMHO. Sometimes things that ‘aren’t quite right’ actually make the piece just a bit more special and appealing. I hope you remember what you did ‘wrong’ and can do it again.

Oh man, I wish I could knit continental! Thank you so much for your encouragement about the eyes. I mailed it off today and I think my gramma will love them too!
