Help with crochet pattern

I am requiring help with this pattern in
Rnd 1: 6 ch-3 loops & all in ch-3 loop.
Can anyone help out?
Thanks,
Dawn

Snowflake Garland Pattern.
Rnd 1: Ch 1, [2 sc in ring, ch 3] 6 times; join with a slip st
in first sc – 6 ch-3 loops.
Rnd 2: Slip st in next sc, ch 1, [(2 sc, ch 3, 2 sc) all in ch-3
loop] 6 times; join.
Rnd 3: Slip st in next sc, ch 1, [(sc, ch 3, sc, ch 5, sc, ch 3,
sc) all in ch-3 loop, ch 2] 6 times; join. Fasten off.

The words after the – tell you what you’ve already done, so you can check your work. Think of it as:
Rnd 1: Ch 1, [2 sc in ring, ch 3] 6 times; join with a slip st
in first sc – you now have 6 ch-3 loops.

In Round 2, you’re to do everything in the brackets in one of the ch-3 loops. So you’ll do (2 sc, ch 3, 2 sc) all in the next loop, until you’ve done all of that in every loop. Don’t try to work into the chains, just stick your hook into the loop made by the chain-3 and work around the chain.

The same thing happens in Round 3.

Hope this clears it up! If not, come back and ask again!

The first Ch 1 of round one is the “ring” and you make 6 petals (= ch 3 loops) around that center ring.

“All in ch-3 loop” the hook goes through the hole of the {next} loop {from the previous round} for start of each stitch in the (parenthetical clause).

I hope that draws a picture for you.

It sounds like the start of a wonderful doily.

Oh “Snowflake Garland Pattern” does explain the 6 repeats. Snow flakes have hexagonal symmetry. :slightly_smiling_face:

Im so bad at understanding written crochet patterns, graph is all I need and much easier to follow.
