I’m wanting to order a sweater pattern, but I need help with what size to order. Everything is in cm. I have tried to figure it out, but the pattern doesn’t give me anything but numbers. Ie. 1-2,3-4,5-6,7,8-9. My chest measures 44 inches. Can someone help me figure out what size pattern to order if I wear an XL in a T-shirt? Please and thank you… if you need any other information, please ask.
It does give measurements, in both inches and cm. It’s intended to have 7-12" positive ease, so decide how oversize you’d like it to be and add that to your chest measurement. 44+7=51 (Size 3), and 44+12=56 (between Sizes 4 & 5), so I’d say either 3 or 4. If you don’t want it oversize, Size 2 (47.25") should work.
Are you ordering a kit? Patterns usually include all the sizes, but you need the right amount of yarn for the size you want to make.
Hello
Do you use ravelry? There are 28 projects with pics and most of them say which size they made. I find it helpful to see tops on bodies and it helps me decide what size to make.
Also there is a fit note on there, the sleeveless sample has 13.25" of positive ease, and although it gives a guide of 7 to 12 inches ease actually the modelled sample has more and looks good. The long sleeve sample is the same size, on a bigger body with less ease, this one 9.25 inches ease.
Looking at the samples I’d go for bigger rather than smaller with this, so I’d for for size 4 or 5.
Never easy to decide though is it?
