Hi .I,m knitting sirdar pattern number 9438 . I have knit colourwork in the round following a chart . This pattern is knit flat and i don t understand the sizing brakets on the chart . I,m making size 3 so have 123st on the needle . Looking at the size 3 markers in the chart if I knit from the right side marker line to the left marker line that is more stitches than I have . Not sure where I start / finish working across the chart . I have attached a picture of the chart Thanks for any help
There are 83 chart squares between the brackets for the 3rd size. The motif at the arrows is worked twice total (20 chart squares) on each side of center for 40 more sts. That totals 123sts.
Perfect timing for this very pretty sweater.
Thank you I m still confused . Do I work up to the 20st repeat knit that twice, knit across to the next 20st repeat and wok that twice ,then knit to end . I know that can,t be right as I don t have enough stitches. Sorry I seem to have complete block on understanding this chart
See if this helps. Work across the blue line from the size 3 line on the right through the 20 stitch repeat. Then work across the red line. This will repeat the 20sts and continue on through the second 20 stitch repeat. Finish by working the green line from the beginning of the 20 stitch repeat to the size 3 line on the left.
There’s 15sts before the repeat on the blue line and 20sts in the repeat (35sts). For the red there are 20sts of the repeat and 13sts between the repeats and 20sts in the second 20 stitch repeat (53sts).On the green line there are 20sts of the repeat plus 15sts to the size 3 line (35sts). That totals 123sts.
Oh my goodness how very kind of you ,that makes perfect sense . Think i most be a visual leaner. Thank you again for your advice and patience.
Anytime! This is going to be a lovely sweater.
