Can someone help. I cannot get my head around how to reverse the right side. It says to k2tog but I am on a purl row. Can anyone give me the full rows in simple terms please.
Welcome to the forum!
What is the name of your pattern and designer?
The pattern seems to want you to work the decreases for the right front on a knit row. You can do this by casting off 3sts at the beginning of a purl row (the armhole edge) then purling across to the front opening. On the next row, slip one, k1, psso at the beginning of the row, work to the armhole edge and k2tog. Then continue with the raglan decreases every other row.
There will be a one row difference between left and right fronts but that won’t be noticeable. An alternative is to work the decreases on purl rows but that’s not what your pattern is suggesting.
But doesn’t it say to NOT do slip one, k1, psso, but to replace that with K2tog?
Yes, because this is the raglan on the right front, the slant is up and to the right, a k2tog. On the right front edge, a skpo will follow the slant up and to the left presumably along the line of the right front edge.
The replacement of skpo with k2tog is at the raglan edge. Knowing the pattern will help. Or am I not understanding your question?
Looks to me like rows 1, 2, 3, and the repeats of these until 4(8, 12) sts remain, don’t change because the front shape and raglan shape happen at once, the ssk and k2tog end up in the correct places leaning the correct way by just following the rows as given. The only changes being that the cast off is on the purl row and the decreases start on the following knit row, and that when the decreases are at raglan only this is where the k2tog is used, the rows already have it in the correct place for the raglan edge.
The part from 91-97 and 102-107 would change to
Next row knit to last 4, k2tog, k2
Next row p2, p2tog p to end
All sizes
Next row k2tog, k2
Next row p1, p2tog
Next row k2tog, fasten off
