So, I dont understand this:
K39 sts, place next 2 sts on a stitch holder for V-neck, join a 2nd ball of yarn and finish row.
WHat do i do with the 2 sts i put on the stitch holder???

You will most likely leave those 2 stitches on the stitch holder until yo get to the part where you pick up stitches for a neck edge and then use them then.
At this point, the directions probably tell you to continue knitting the 2 sides of the sweater separately, at the same time.
If you can link to the pattern, we may be able to be more specific.
Yes, just leave the stitches on the holder until they tell you to use them again.
