Help with a pattern

Happy Easter Everyone,

I am new to the group and am hoping that you may be able to help me please.

I am knitting the Marble sweater Petite Knit and having problems with the yoke. I did a sample so as not to frog actual jumper as its in a mohair. I believe I followed instructions, but it came out looking a bit like a pin wheel. Not the raglan that I was hoping for. I would appreciate any feedback and assistance to get me back on track please?

Many thanks in anticipation

Carol

Are you using the M1L and M1R increases? The markers should be before the 3 raglan sts. The first increase is then immediately before the marker in the strand between the last stitch knit and the stitch after the marker. Make sure the position of the marker doesn’t change and the increased stitch remains before the marker and before the three raglan sts. After those 3 raglan sts are knit, lift the strand between the last of the 3 and the next stitch for the increase.

It make help to put in a marker after as well as the marker before the 3 raglan sts. Those markers won’t change position. The increases will always be outside of the markers and outside the 3 raglan sts.

I’m not understanding your markers. There should be 4 “seams” for a raglan–right front, left front, left back, right back. I don’t see instructions for placing the markers, but maybe you need to check that?

It might help to use a different type of marker for the Center Back (Beginning of Round), and then maybe a different color for each sleeve. Since this is the short-row section to raise the back neck, you’ll be working back and forth across the back, turning in the sleeve sections.

Did you start with dividing the amount of stitches evenly per section? It should be as the example below.

Example: 302 stitches

Divided: 75 for the back 75 for front 152 divided by 38 for the raglan arms. I’m used to working this flat, but if working in the round make the start of the round the start of the front or back. K75, PM, K38, PM, K38, PM, K75, PM, K38, PM, K38 end of round.

if using ML MR I always make an increase on either side of the marker.
