Help with a pattern please

Hello, I am new and only recently started knitting. I am trying to do a triangular scarf which uses Bamboo stitch. I am stuck from the beginning to be truthful, no matter what I do, I can’t get my stitches to match those in the pattern. I’m hoping someone can explain what is going wrong.
The pattern reads
CO 4
Row 1. K
Row 2. pfb, p2, pfb ( 6sts)
Row 3. Slip 1, k1 , (yo, k2, pass yo over the 2 stitches you just knit) * repeat to last stitch, kfbf (8 sts)
Row 4, slip1, purl to end, pfbf (10 sts)
Thanks for any help.

Welcome to KH!
Can you post a photo of what you have so far? Is it stitch number that’s not agreeing with the pattern?
Make sure you’re doing the yarn over correctly. It won’t use a stitch. Simply bring the yarn to the front between the needles then over the right needle to the back.
The other stitch is the kfbf (knit front and back and front). Here’s a video:

Row two ends with 6sts.
Then there must be an error in row three.
Row 3. Slip 1, k1 , (yo, k2, pass yo over the 2 stitches you just knit) * repeat to last stitch, kfbf (8 sts)

I have a problem with the count of sts consumed. My parenthesis indicate sts remaining of the left needle.

Slip 1(5), k1(4), yo(4), k2(2), pass yo over k2(2), now what do you repeat with the two stitches remaining?
It must then be slip1, kfbf to finish with 8 sts and not repeat (yo k2 pyook2)
{pyook2 = pass yo over k2}

Poorly written repeat and a missing * ?
My answer: there must be a gap between bamboo sts.

Either 4 sts:
RS row: * s1, k1, (Bamboo sts), * repeat until 2 sts remain, s1, kfbf.

Or only Bamboo sts:
RS row: s1, k1, * (Bamboo sts), * repeat until 2 stitches, s1, kfbf.

A link to the pattern, name of the pattern and where it is published, or a sample image would help.

So I have tried each of the two repeat options above.

If the repeat includes * S1, K1,(Bamboo stitch: YO, K2, Pass YO Over K2) * until two sts remain, s1, kfbf (St count).
That produces an offset repeating of the Bamboo stitch similar to moss stitch.

If you just repeat the Bamboo stitch,
RS row: s1, k1, * (Bamboo stitch), * repeat until 2 sts remain, s1, kfbf. then you get straight bamboo columns with the curling Stockinette stitchs at each edge.

This is how I fix the curled edges.

Each RS Row: P1, K1, * Bamboo stitch (YO, K2, Pass YO over the K2) * repeat until 2 sts then S1, KFBF.

Each WS row: K1, P across, PFBF.

Looks like this:
