What is the name of your pattern or the Drops number?
We should be able to access the Drops pattern once we have the pattern infor but you can also quote the entire row exactly.

It isn’t two seperate instructions of yarn over and then k2tog it is a single instruction for an english rib stitch.

On the previous row you will have made a yarn over and slipped a stitch purl wise. The yarn over may be crossed over the slipped stitch or sitting next to it, either way these two will be worked together into a single stitch.
Don’t make a new yarn over, just work the pair from the previous row together.
