Help, what does work 2 rows mean?

Please help trying to knit baby clogs as a present for a pregnant friend but in stuck. The part of the pattern is

k1,k2tog,k13,k2tog,k2,k2 tog tbl,k13,k2 tog tbl,k1
knit 1 row
k1,k2 tog k11, k2 tog, k2,k2 tog tbl,k11, k2 tog tbl, k1
knit 1 row
k1, k2 tog,k9, k2 tog,k2, k2 tog tbl, k9, k2 tog tbl, k1
work 2 rows

can anyone tell me what the work 2 rows means?

From what you have written, it would mean to knit 2 rows.

Your pattern appears to be overall garter stitch (knit every row) with some decreases on every other row. Now you are to “work” 2 rows, rather than the previous 1 rows. In keeping with the garter st both rows should be knit.

1st row-right side knit
2nd row- increase in 1st st,k4,increase in next stitch,k1
increase 1 st as before at end of next 3 rows then at each end of 2 following alternate row
increase 1 st as before at each end of 4th row
…

I’m confused at the alternate part, do i knit a row then increase or increase then knit a row and increase.
also in confused to the 4th row it refers to.

*1st row (RS) - knit
*2nd row - increase in 1st st,k4,increase in next stitch,k1

Based on this I would then…
3rd row - inc one st at end, k1
4th row - inc one st at end, k1
5th row - inc one st at end, k1
7th row - inc one st at beginning and end of row, k1
9th row - inc one st at beginning and end of row, k1

But this line…

…makes no sense ( at least to me). You’ve already been given instructions for the 4th row. Are you sure the directions don’t say the “following” 4th row?

No what i wrote is what the pattern says.
increase 1 stitch as before at each end of 4th row.

Sorry, Maybe a link to the pattern or name of pattern might help someone figure it out.

That would mean to inc the same manner you did for the 4th row - inc at each end and the last stitch would be k1.
