Help Understanding Pattern

:?? Okay, I’ve done 14 scarves to practice my stiches but now I’m ready to try something a little different (baby blanket). Could you fabulous knitters help me understand …

Beg Pattern Stch, working first and last 7 stiches in Moss St. PM after 1st and last 7 sts to help keep track …

Q: Does this mean that I’m supposed to increase every row with a Moss st? Won’t this make my blanket infinitely larger? I know I’m missing something.

FYI - My pattern has Moss st. instruction:
Row 1 (RS) sl1 with yarn in back (this means increase using the moss stitch - right?) p1 k1.

Any help with appreciated!!

PM means place marker; slipping the first stitch isn’t an increase, you just move the stitch from the left needle to the right without working it. This usually gives a nicer edge to things like blankets and scarves.
