Help understanding pattern

I am a novice knitter mostly self taught off of You Tube during the pandemic. I just started a hat pattern but don’t understand the following pattern
k15 (17,19) pm , p1 ktbl, p1; repeat from * 31 (33,35) more times, pm k16 (18, 20)
I don’t understand the part in parentheses

Welcome to KH!
The numbers including those in parentheses are for different sizes (maybe S (M,L). Your pattern must come in 3 sizes. It will help to mark the number for your size throughout the pattern. That makes it easier to knit.
What is the name of your pattern and designer?

Enjoy making your first hat!

Important tip:
Do the gauge swatch! This often seems like a waste of time when you want to dive right in and make the thing, but it is crucial to having any garment come out the right size. For example, if you knit more tightly than the designer, your hat could come out too small. The gauge swatch helps you decide which needles to use with your yarn, based on how YOU knit.

Here’s a nice tutorial on reading patterns, which tend to be full of abbreviations and extra punctuation. https://nimble-needles.com/tutorials/how-to-read-knitting-patterns/

His example for different sizes shows slashes between sizes, but parentheses are also used as in the pattern you have. Definitely go through the whole pattern and mark your size with a pencil or highlighter.
