Hi all, I need help understanding a pattern for a cable time jacket.
I’ve got 77 stitches, and the next step (row?) reads:
Inc row P8, [pfb, p5] 10 times, pfb, p8. 88 sts.
What do I have to do, and does it all happen in the same row?
I’m new to knitting, so apologies in advance if these are silly questions!
Hi Galya, Welcome to KH. The answer is yes, the increases do all happen in this next row.
For the increase row you purl 8sts, [ purl into the front and back legs of the next stitch, purl 5] x 10, purl frontback into the next stitch, purl 8 to end the row where you should then have 88sts.
This video will help show how to do a PFB if you are not sure.Enjoy your knitting
