Help reading x-mas stocking pattern

okay…so I’m knitting a christmas stocking (never knitted a sock before) and I’ve come to the “heel flap”.
This is the pattern:

Row 1: (RS)* Slip 1(sl 1; slip purlwise with yarn in back), Knit 1*; rep from * to end.

Row 2: (WS): Sl 1 (slip purlwise with yarn in front), purl across to end.
Rep these two rows for 2 1/2", ending after finishing a RS row.

Is this how I would read it?

Row 1: slip 1, slip 1, slip 1 purlwise, knit 1 OR am I only slipping one and then knitting one?
Row 2: Slip 1, purl to end

Please help me!!! Am I reading this pattern right? I’m having such a brain freeze…

The portion that is in the brackets is just telling you how they want the sl1 to be done. It is not an additional instruction. So you will be doing sl1, K1 repeated across the first row and then on the second row, slip the first stitch and then purl the rest of the stitches. It isn’t really a very good way to write the pattern and I could see how it would be confusing.
