Help reading Pattern

Ok so i’m sort of new to knitting, well ive been knitting scarves, afghan squares etc for ages and am now venturing onto some more “shapely” items. I am knitting a baby jacket at the moment and need help understanding the pattern…

I need to Repeat 4 rows of pattern until 7 cables are completed.

PATTERN:
Row 1: P 1, sl 1, k 2, psso 2 k sts, p 1, (k 1, p 1) 3 times, sl 1, k 2, psso 2 k St, p 1.

Row 2: K 1, p 1, yo, p 1, (k 1, p 1) 3 times, k 1, p 1, yo, p 1, k 1.

Row 3: P 1, k 3, (p 1, k 1) 3 times, p 1, k 3, p 1.

Row 4: K 1, p 3, k 7, p 3, k 1.

Repeat these 4 rows for pattern.

Now i have 139 sts on my needle so i’m not sure if im supposed to keep repeating the stitches for Row 1 for the entire row or rows 1-4 for the entire row iykwim?

Also for this “Begin working pattern as follows:
Row 1: K 62, pattern St over 15 sts, k 62”.
do i just knit the first 15 stitches of row 1 in pattern??

Wow sorry for all the Q’s hopefully i’m not too confusing and what i’m asking makes sense!!!

Thanks so much

Elyse

You have 139 stitches. Your pattern says:

“Begin working pattern as follows:
Row 1: K 62, pattern St over 15 sts, k 62”.

62+15+62= 139

The pattern you gave:
PATTERN:

Row 1: P 1, sl 1, k 2, psso 2 k sts, p 1, (k 1, p 1) 3 times, sl 1, k 2, psso 2 k St, p 1.

Row 2: K 1, p 1, yo, p 1, (k 1, p 1) 3 times, k 1, p 1, yo, p 1, k 1.

Row 3: P 1, k 3, (p 1, k 1) 3 times, p 1, k 3, p 1.

Row 4: K 1, p 3, k 7, p 3, k 1.

Repeat these 4 rows for pattern.

is a pattern that uses 15 stitches and has 4 rows in which you do the instructions and then start over at row 1 and work through them again.

So row 1 you will knit 62 stitches then work row 1 of the pattern (over 15 sts. You might like to place a marker on your needle before you work the 15 stitches and again when you finish them, you will only have 13 stitches left from the 15 this first time) given. Knit the last 62 stitches. So overall you will have 137 stitches at the end of row 1.

Row 2 you probably purl 62, work the 13 stitches as given for row 2 of the pattern (you will now have 15 again in that section), purl 62.

Row 3: Knit 62, work the 15 stitches of row 3 of the pattern, knit 62. The number stays even over the whole row this time.

Row 4: Purl 62, work the 4th row of the pattern stitch over the 15 stitches, purl 62. 139 stitches

Repeat rows 1 to 4 until they tell you what to do next.
