Pattern is Bernat Supersquish Blanket
Second row reads K1. *P1(P1).K1.Rep from * to end of row
It doesn’t look like picture and I am confused as to why it doesn’t say *P2K1, I must be doing something wrong? Or maybe this is a typo ? ?

They seem to be defining terms here even though there’s a list of abbreviations to begin the pattern. The Foundation row begins:
Foundation row: [Wrong side (WS)]. *Knit 1 stitch (K1)…
All this means is that from now on Knit 1 will be abbreviated K1. It doesn’t mean to K2.
The same thing is going on in row 2:
2nd row: K1. *Purl 1 (P1). K1. Rep from * to end of row
From now on Purl 1 will be abbreviated P1.
So to work row 2: K1. *P1. K1. Rep from * to end of row
