Dec 1 st at each end of next and foll alt row, then on foll 3 rows,
ending with a WS row. 33 sts.
Can someone help with the above please?

If you call the next row, row 1 then you dec at each end of rows 1, 3 and rows 4,5 and 6.
Good for you for teaching yourself to knit.

Been a straightforward knitter for a year or so now but challenging myself now. Currently knitting a hot water bottle cover

Have you looked at YouTube as everything you have want to know how to do is there?!
I agree, YouTube is also a good resource for new (and experienced!) knitters, not always that easy to get an answer when you have a specific question, though!
