Hi!
I’m trying to knit the Liesel scarf which can be found on Ravelry.
In the first row I get stuck with [k1, yo, p1]. In the revisions the following is said about this:
Please note that in line 1 of the chart and written instructions, you will have to do a yarn-over followed by a p st.
First do a yarnover. Your yarn is at the back. Now bring the yarn to the front between the 2 needles. Then p your next st. What you should have on your needles then is a yo followed by a p st.
If you have only a p st, that’s because what you probably did was do a yarnover, and because the yarn was in front, you went ahead and did a p st. MAKE SURE that what you end up with is a yo followed by a p st!
So I’ve been trying to do so, but can’t figure out what they exactly mean. I keep ending up with just the P stitch without the Yarn Over, and the only way I could achieve a YO followed by a P stitch was to keep the yarn in the back and just pearl the stitch. But that looks very awkward and doesn’t seem to be the right way to do it.
If someone could explain how to do a YO followed by a P stitch, I’d be very grateful and happy!
Thank you, in advance!
xx

and think of the YO followed by the P as circling the needle twice making sure the yarn ends up in front.
