Could anyone give me some tips on picking up multiple dropped stitches?? I broke my circular needle and about 25 stitches came off. The break is right where the needle and the cord meet!
Hi and welcome to KH. If your pattern isn’t complicated you can just pick them up with any needle you have handy, even the one with the cable still attached if it’s possible. I find using a needle a few sizes smaller for picking up loose stitches is easier than using the same size. Be gentle and don’t pull them loose more than you have to. Any dropped stitches can be picked up as normal so even if you pick one up a row below, it’s good. You might find tinking back a round/row after recovering as many as you can to make sure all stitches are from the same row helpful. From experience I know it’s a good idea to count and make sure all stitches are recovered before working much more.
Yes, pick up as many of the sts as you can. You could continue to work the next round or to slip sts, correcting dropped sts as you go. Keep looking at the back of the work to make sure you’ve gotten all the ladders picked up.
Here’s a video that may help.
Thanks for adding the video link. My internet is slow today and so I skipped it.
