Help me please. Argyle chart

Hello I hope someone can help me. While doing intarsia,
I’m following an argyle chart but I’m doing a size bigger
After the first two rows I’m not sure what I do.
The instructions are as follows:
Cont in patt from chart as folls:

Row 1 (rs): K4a,(k1c, k9a, k1b, k9a) 5 Times, k1c, k4a.
Row 2 (ws): p3a, (p1c, p1a, p1c, p7a, p3b,p7a) 5times, p1c, p1a,p1c,p3a.

These 2 rows set position of patt.
Cont in patt until 80 rows have been worked from top of
Rib.

Does this mean I repeat rows 1 & 2 or do I follow the argyle chart?
If I have to follow the chart, how is this done in a bigger size?

I would be greateful for any help many thanks in advance…

You should follow the argyle chart. The first two rows are given to tell you where to place the argyle pattern.

Since the directions in parentheses are repeated you would increase in the knit sts outside the parentheses (bolded), depending on how much larger a size you’re making. If the size is large enough to include a complete repeat of the argyle pattern, then you could do 6 repeats of the directions in parentheses. That may also depend on what the rest of the chart looks like.

Row 1 (rs): K4a,(k1c, k9a, k1b, k9a) 5 Times, k1c, k4a.
Row 2 (ws): p3a, (p1c, p1a, p1c, p7a, p3b,p7a) 5times, p1c, p1a,p1c,p3a.
