Hello! I bought three skeins of this yarn:

Several years ago. I have the “candy store” color way. It’s incredible yarn, soft and the colors are gorgeous. I initially bought it to make the pattern that accompanies it but the pattern was terrible and I didn’t like it once finished so I frogged it. This yarn was an investment so now it’s just sitting here. Before I try to sell it, is there something that you think would look great with this yarn? I don’t need any more hats and I’d be open to a scarf but I don’t know what type of stitch pattern would look nice. It’s fairly busy so cables wouldn’t show up. I have looked for hours and hours on revelry for super bulky patterns or ideas for this yarn and this yardage and I wasn’t crazy about anything. I don’t need slippers or mittens. I don’t have enough for a vest…but would consider buying a few more skeins (it’s “on sale” now. Still crazy expensive). But I’d love your thoughts. I’d love to use it but it may not take another frogging.
Here’s a photo of the yarn for easy reference. I have three skeins that comes out to about 240 yards. It’s super bulky
Wow, it is gorgeous yarn!
A scarf in a plain pattern, maybe stockinette with wide garter stitch borders would be simple enough to show off the yarn and not distract. Seed stitch would work too.
What about a baby blanket or something for the home, a pillow cover, a couple of placemats for the table or a container of some sort?

Have you seen this scarf pattern?

The colours work really well, it has a slip stitch 4 row repeat and seems to look good both sides and lay flat too.
My little mister would adore a cushion cover in the yarn colourway you bought, it’s right up his street!
You mentioned a vest but not having enough. With it being so epensive maybe you could pair it with a solid in one of the colours, in a more budget friendly yarn? Then do top half in sold bottom half in multicolour, or a front/back split, or stripes?
This striped sweater would be fabulous in this yarn and 1 or 2 complimentary solids.
What about a jacket? This one looks like a rectangle and you could make the large plain section in your expensive yarn then the lace sections and borders in a solid colour?
I have looked at that scarf and the thing that’s holding me back is choosing the color for the second yarn. Do you think it would look nice with the grey denim heather? Or do I really need to use a whiteish color?

I love the idea of a baby blanket! But there are no more babies. HAHA! I thought about seed stitch but wasn’t sure. I knew you’d know! I wish I was one who would wear this much color because I think it would be lovely as a garment. I do like the idea of using it as a stripe….I’m thinking about that.
I don’t see any reason not to go for the denim heather if you like it. The overall fabric will be darker with pops of colour.
Although no one used this combination on ravelry i think it’s worth a look at the projects there as some use different yarn but they give a bit of an idea what a darker scarf would be like ith the pops of colour.
Have a look at the projects with the yarn on Ravelry. There are ideas for cowls and even a hooded vest with the rib in the Candy Store.

What about the yoke of a top down (or bottom up) sweater with the main body in the color of your choice, a grey denim?
I didn’t see this in the comments above, so I may have missed it, but I’m wondering …. Can you post the accompanying pattern, or the name of the item, or a picture of a finished item in that pattern? I’m so curious now
Absolutely you can! When people ask questions, our first response is often “please give us the name of the pattern and designer”.
You can post a link to the pattern, or a photo of the cover, so we can see what the end result is supposed to be. You can also post any section of the the pattern itself, if you’re having trouble interpreting it. Just don’t post the entire text of a pattern, to protect the designer’s copyright. Even if it’s a free pattern!
You can post any photos that accompany the pattern, or projects you’ve found on Ravelry, and we love it if you post a photo of your finished project!

I meant in this particular case, she bought the yarn to make the accompanying pattern bur then didn’t like it so ripped it to reuse the yarn.
I’m wondering what was the pattern that came with her yarn

Sorry! Since it said it was the first time you posted, I didn’t catch that you were asking for THIS pattern specifically!
