Hello! Okay, so I’m making a sweater that increases with M1s on the either side of 6 sts.
My M1R increases are fine (as shown) with no gaps at all but my M1Ls are leaving more of a gap when I make them.
Is this something I should be concerned with or should it even out with blocking? Am I doing something wrong? I know to switch the way in which you pull up the bar so the made st twists the right way but for some reason there’s still a huge gap.
You may not be twisting the pickup by going through the back of the stitch.
Here is a video.
Or you may be pulling more yarn out from the stitches left and right of the bar and causing the gap. This might work out in blocking or in the wash.
I have been working a hat pattern that uses M1R & M1L and I find the M1L to be much harder for me than the M1R.
I found that I was pulling up to hard on the bar when made my M1L’s because i had so much trouble getting my needle through the back of M1L stitch.
