Help! Loom knitting a slouch beanie

I bit off more than I can chew, especially being new at knitting period. I am using a large 40 peg loom, using a size 6 bulk 80% acrylic, 20% wool to knit a slouchy beanie, that I saw on YouTube. I thought I understood directions, HAHA, and jumped right in. Directions said to leave 2 rows on loom for 35 rows, then to fold over to make the brim. Well… it is a very thick hat and too long now to fold over and make a brim. Is it salvageable or do I need to undo a lot of it? I have made 2 other beanies, with size 4 yarn and they turned out ok. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated and welcomed! Thanks in advance and I’m so glad I stumbled across your forum!!!

Welcome to the forum!
Can you give us a link to the YouTube?
Are you working this bottom up or top down?
What if you make the decreases for the top of the hat and then fold the bottom up so that you have a double layer at the face. Would that work?
