:knitting: I am really struggling to get this to function in my head and so am in need of some help plleeaasssee.
I am starting Norah Gaughhan’s Starfish shawl from her knitting nature book. I just can’t grasp how the chart would work in the round -
As i understand it in the round charts are read all from the same side - This chart starts on row 1 but the 1 is written on the left side of the chart and not the right where i thought charts normally started, so does this mean that is where i start? from the left? Only in the destructions it says “work sts 1 -3 of chart once, pattern A, pattern b 25 times then work to end of chart” what is confusing me is that the 3 stitches followed by pattern a and then b is reading from the right when pictured on the chart? so do i always read from the right for this chart and the number is signifying that it is beginning with a wrong side?
and i do all the stitches on the right side and don’t change them for the wrong side? as in p on ws, k on rs?
sorry I am even confusing myself with this question! I hope someone can make sense of it.
I am an experienced knitter but just cannot comprehend charts for some reason.
Thanks in advance:thumbsup:
