HELP! I just did a bind off and the yarn broke!

I literally have about 1/3 of an inch to work with! What do I do? I can’t weave it in. I finally finished the scarf, and now what?
Guess it’s not really finished after all. And the LYS isn’t open on Monday. This was my first knitted FO, and I feel like I"m in Knitting Purgatory.

Sigh. Hope the LYS owner can save me!

You could sew the end down, or pull out the bind off and a row and bind off again.

Am I missing something?

I don’t guess scissors would help…:pout:

Depending on how much yarn broke off when you did your bind off and if the yarn is wool or a wool blend, then you could do a felted join.
I guess I’m depending on quite a bit for that to work… :teehee:

You need to pick out that last stitch–the one you pulled the yarn through. After that, it should pop right out.

:roflhard:

I’m not even sure where the last stitch is! Off to the LYS. If I could take a pic and show you what I have done, I think you’d shake your head sadly.

Not following that at a close distance. Never done one. Thanks for the response though!

The end where your itty-bitty tail would be the last stitch. Try to pick it out. What the heck, it’s only knitting. :teehee:

And bindoffs shouldn’t be all that tight. Use a larger needle when you try it again.

I definitely will from now on! (Always learning the hard way over here!)

If you can’t open it, use a bit of your leftover yarn to whip the little bit firmly to your knitting. Also, a dab of clear-drying glue applied right on the last stitch should anchor everything in. Also, if it does open up on you, you can always open up your final row, rejoin your yarn, and bind off again. Look on the bright side.
