HELP, HELP: I'm working on Antifreeze from Knitty

Hi everyone,
I need some help.
I’m working on the Face Mask called “Antifreeze” from Knitty. It is here:
http://www.knitty.com/issuewinter06/PATTantifreeze.html
I’m at the place where you Shape Face Opening.
Here are the directions:

…Shape Face Opening
K20; pick up and k 36 sts along edge of face opening (2 sts for every 3 rows); k held sts, retaining st marker; pick up and k 36 sts along side edge of face opening. 112 sts.

K to st marker at center bottom of face opening; this is beginning of round.
K 8 rounds.

Shape Forehead
K61, w&t. P10, w&t.
K13, w&t. P16, w&t.
K19, w&t. P22, w&t.
K25, w&t. P28, w&t.
K to end of round.
…
Ok, my question is the position of the stitch marker. I have it at the left of the 20 stitches that are on hold. That is where I started. The directions say
K to st marker at center bottom of face opening
Where is the stitch marker suppose to be AND do the numbers add up to get to the next set of directions which is Shape Forehead?
Thanks,
Susie

OMG! The model looks like Trixie from Speed Racer!
I wonder if she wears those fake eyelashes all the time?

 HELP :waah:

Is the stitch marker where you started the round? If not, I think I’d put one at the center of the bottom of the face and see what happens.

The stitch marker is where I started the round yes but she says something about it being at the center. I’m wondering where to start. The middle of the bottom where the stitches are on hold???
Thanks Ingrid,
Susie

K to st marker at center bottom of face opening; this is beginning of round.
K 8 rounds.
Shape Forehead
K61, w&t. P10, w&t.
K13, w&t. P16, w&t.
K19, w&t. P22, w&t.
K25, w&t. P28, w&t.
K to end of round.

I guess the above is the part where I’m stuck. If I knit to the st marker at center bottom of face opening and k 8 rounds…that has me ending up at the bottom…how do I “Shape Forehead”?
Thanks,
Susie

ok I’m not sure if this is right or not… I googled and found some blogs but no one mentioned having trouble with this… so I’m thinking you start at the sm bottom center and the short rows for the forehead will just start to come along… so at the sm do the K61, wrap and turn etc… that is the only thing I can think to do or try…

Ok, thanks! I’ll give her a whirl tomorrow.
Appreciate the help,
Susie
