Help for sleeve increases - Sirdar design no 5434

I’m currently knitting sirdar design no 5434 and working the sleeves in size 1. It has an 8 row repeat and I have completed the first lot, it has increases at the beginning and end of row 5 and 7. However after the first 8 you have to continue whilst increasing the next and every 2nd following row until 45 stitches, and then every following 4th row until 55 stitches, but none of them land on a row 7, so what do I do? Row 7 has a pattern design in it and not just a plain row so it needs to sit correctly to keep the design correct. Can anyone help?

Hello

Is it this pattern? This is adorable!

Rows 5 and 7 have shown where on the row the increases should be placed, the increases that follow won’t necessarily be on these rows but should be placed in the same way.

Next and every 2nd row will be 1, 3, 5, 7…until the stitch count.

If you place a marker before and after the pattern repeat on row 7 where you need to keep the stitch pattern aligned, this will help deal with the increased number of stitches. You will be able to begin the pattern repeat at the marker as though it is a ‘normal’ row, end the pattern repeat at the last marker and work the stitches after this in stockinette. You can continue the stitches outside the markers in stockinette which makes it easier and will give a nice finish, or you can begin to encorporate them into the repeat stitch pattern once you have enough to add a full pattern. Count how many sts the bark texture motif on the sleeves uses, when you have this many you can create a new bark motif (if you choose to add an additional motif be sure not to work right up to the edge stitch as you will need a nice ege to seam later).

If it’s still tricky do ask again, maybe type out the row that is causing the difficulty.

Yeah, it’s that pattern. I’m not normally stumped this much :joy: but it just seemed to confuse me a little.
Thank you for your help, that makes sense

We all get stumped. I’m stumped many times per day!

Enjoy your project.
