Help finding substitute yarn

UK based, newish knitter here. I have found a cardigan I would like to knit that calls for Lion Brand Vanna’s Choice yarn. Details are:

Brand: Lion Brand
Yarn Weight: Worsted
Blend: 100% Acrylic
Needles: 5.50mm-6.00mm
Ball Weight: 100g (3.5oz)
Yarn Length: 156m (170 yds)
Tension: 12-16 stitches, 15-22 rows to 10cm/4"

I don’t really understand any of this as I usually just use DK. But when I casted on in that I could see it wasn’t wide wnough. I can’t start altering patterns as I am not that good so I need a yarn that will knit up closer to the pattern (http://www.loveknitting.com/drapey-cardigan-in-lion-brand-vannas-choice-l10572).

My question is will any ARAN yarn do (as this is what comes up when I Google WORSTED)?

If you don’t have Vanna’s Choice available you could check out the yarns and projects on the cardi’s Ravelry page (free to join). Look at the tab towards the top called “yarn ideas” to see what others have used.

There’s also a site called Yarn sub that is very helpful for substituting yarn. It not only considers the gauge (sts/inch) but also the compostion and drape of the knit fabric.
