Help! Emergency!

I am trying to knit a sweater for my 1yr old niece. The pattern is trimmed in fur yarn. I’ve got the sweater mostly finished, but I’m trying to do the trim. The pattern says to use the same size needles and pick up stitches around the edge, and knit 4 rows. I did this, but my “fur” doesn’t look like fur at all… it’s not dense at all and just looks messy… what’s the trick to working with this stuff?

try doubling the “fur” - or carry it along with a strand of “regular” yarn. It’s rarely used by itself.

It gets wrapped up in itself and the stitches so you might have to pick at it to bring the fluff out.
