Hi, I’m new on here and very happy to have found you.
I’m a fairly good knitter but am stuck on this “row 8” instruction and hoping someone can help.
Drop next st down 1 row and work (k1 wl-fd k1) into the double loops,
k1 pass 2nd st on left hand needle over the 1st st, then k 1st in usual way.
It is part of the pattern of a very old baby dress pattern.
Fingers crossed someone can explain.
Welcome to KH!
Vintage patterns are almost a different language. K1-wool forward-k1 is now commonly called k1-yo-k1.
Here’s a video for knitting into the stitch below. Instead of knitting into the V below and then knitting the stitch, you’re going to k1-yo-k1 into that stitch.
Here’s the k1-yo-k1
What is the name of your pattern?
Thank you, very helpful I understand it now.
This is the pattern
