Hedgehog disaaaster help

I have just felted my huggable hedgehog by Fibretrends.

It looks bald . Are you supposed to be able to see the wool and the fancy yarn or mostly the fancy yarn?

I took a pic but you cannot see it that it looks ok but when i look at it i want to cry . Maybe my fancy yarn was no good .

It looked great before i felted it :waah:

:grphug: I hope someone can help you, you’re very brave trying felting!

Thank you Ellie,

It is such a waste! i just want to cry!

Did you sort this out? Don’t cry, have you tried washing it again? Or maybe starting over?

I’m sorry you had a bad experience. Felting itself is not hard, but I wonder about the “fancy yarn” you used. Was it some sort of non felting yarn that you mixed with the yarn that was to felt, or was it an animal fiber (was it mixed with something else, or the only yarn you knit with for that part? If it was some really hairy, but not so good yarn, maybe the hairys couldn’t hold up to the rigors of the felting process and …fell out. That could spell disaster. I’m not sure if you can do anything to make it look like it did before felting if a bunch of the fibers fell out of the fabric. Go ahead and cry a little, it might help you get over it and feel better. Sorry.

Thank you ellie and merigold.

Hedgie is no longer with us lol He is in hedgie heaven.

I contacted fibertrends and they said lionbrand or fizz as substitutes.

I cannot remember what the fun fur was called. But it was not cheap. It was £3 here and about $6.50 in the us.

he fur did not fall out but it just shrunk. I wished i had never felted it. It looked so lovely before it went in the washer lol
