Maybe I have a low forehead, but most of my hats, if they cover my ears properly, get in my eyes. How can I adjust patterns to prevent this - short rows? If so, where? Any other ideas. I like to knit most of my hats in the round. Thanks.

How many inches are you knitting it from the cast on edge? I usually knit about 6-7 inches before I start shaping the crown. If you need it shorter you just knit a little less before the decreases in the crown shaping.
My hats fit others, just not me. I think I have a low forehead and so they always come a bit lower in the front than I would like if I knit them to cover my ears. If I make them a bit shorter, then my ear tips are exposed - not good in Saskatchewan winters. The slouch hats are okay because I just yank them back a bit when I wear them. Ear flap caps solve the problem, but I was hoping for ideas for adjusting the toque.

What about a hat with an all-around, turned up brim? You can adjust the depth of the brim so it’s deeper in the front than the back and out of your eyes. And the double thickness over the ears sounds ideal for Saskatchewan.
