Has anyone seen any nice knitted kitchen towel patterns?

Can someone recommend a book of patterns for knitted kitchen towels?
Or, a stitch that would make a nice pattern for a towel?

Thanks for reading,
Ann

Here are some

quite a few here

There is a thread in the General forum about towels, too. You might do a quick scan or search in there.

Here’s a few I found.

There is also one that is very popular in the Mason Dixon Knitting book. Try your library if you don’t want to buy it. It looks like this -

Jan in CA and Cougar1:
Thank you!! Simply elegant towels that are beautiful to display. P.S. I ordered Mason Dixon Knitting from Amazon (my library didn’t carry it)

I have it for the second time from the library, but I think I’m just going to buy it from Amazon. One of the bookstores I went to didn’t have it (hence the library), but I really want it. It’s a fun read, too!

Then I should ask, what is the yarn the pictured yellow and green dish towels are made of? I’m ordering cotton yarn since my local Michael’s and Joann’s have a small selection of Sugar 'n Cream colors to choose from.
Thanks!

For those towels she used Louet Euroflax Originals which is a discontinued yarn. It was linen and is about a DK weight I believe.

They are big fans of the dishcloth cotton, but didn’t use it for these towels. I looked on Ravelry to see what yarns others had used, too. Here’s a short list of the most used yarns if you’re interested.

Louet Euroflax Originals (suggested but discontinued)
Knit Picks CotLin
Sugar and Cream
Louet Euroflax Sport Wt.
Elsebeth Lavold Hempathy

Those are the most used as listed (some don’t link so I don’t know), but others used other brands of linen and cotton for the most part.

It looks like you’ve got several great patterns already, but I thought I’d add this one; I knit this towel as part of a gift for my new SIL, and she loves it.

Louet Euroflax Originals was sport weight. I understand that it has been replaced by Euroflax Sport Weight. I’m thinking it was to make it easier for people to remember the weight–Original isn’t very helpful for that.

I made the first one in Jan’s post- it was a fun, easy knit.

I still haven’t sewn the button on yet though

Cougar1,
On this blog that you listed, do I have to write for permission to use patterns on her blog?

If the patterns are posted in a public blog they are yours to use for personal use. If you want to sell them you need to contact the designer.

Thanks. I just read what she put on the end of her post. Thanks again for clearing this up for me.
