I’m still not sure how to take this… either the world has gone topsy-turvy or knitters are finally being recognized as a viable market for movie tie-ins. Ladies and gentlemen, have you seen Opal’s latest (yet to be released) creation? Harry Potter-inspired yarn.
:oo:
Alright, I admit it… I’ve already picked out the colors I plan on buying.
I think a trip to The Yarn Shop over in Overland Park to get some of that darling Harry Potter #5 is what I will plan…along with lunch out of course. Constance
See what you and Jan have done… Now I’m going to have to check back with that site every other day and drool at the yarn. Why does every online yarn vendor I go to have to be sold out? pout Thanks for the links =)
I do really like several of the yarns at this link… and fun names seem to make them all that much more fun to work with. I can almost hear my stash groaning at the prospect of more company.
Oh darn! I really like the color combination. I actually have a sweater in those colors that would have been great paired with a pair of “Seriously?” socks.
I feel for you… I seem to have the same “sold out” affliction. Guess it may be best for my credit card!
The only one’s I was really feeling Harry Potterish about were Tonks and Ron… my personal favorite colorways. I felt, artistically, that they captured the essence of their personalities… colorful and vibrant! Maybe its just that crazy artist/ designer in me.

Yeah…I am a huge HP fan…(yeah my profile pic was my attempt at me as Hermione) And I just don’t see it…doesn’t mean I won’t buy a whole bunch of it…I guess if I was making an HP colour way I would make 4 different house ones, that run the house colours solidly…
Mind you it is hard to tell without them all knitted up…
Yep, I’ve seen 'em. Nope, I’m not buying any of them.
The colors are totally unrelated to any character they have on the label.
NONE of the yarns have the only two real knitters in the entire seven books - Hermione or Molly.
Opal obviously did little or no research into this. They got permission to use the HP names, dumped a bunch of colors into the yarns (and yes, Opal makes very nice sock yarns) and then, I dunno, dumped names into a hat & pulled 'em out? Something like that, I’d guess!
For example … Draco is on one of the colorways. What colors are in it? Well … it’d be perfect for Ravenclaw!
Draco, tho, is Slytherin. And there’s not a hint of green to be seen in the colorway.
