Hi ya’ll, long time no chat. So I’m knitting gloves from Ann Budds “Knitters handy book of patterns”. I’m on page 19 for those who can follow along…
2 questions:
-
On the thumb gusset increase, do I move the thumb gusset stitches to waste thread right after the last increase or do I do that after I’ve increased and knitted the next rounds required ("increase in this manner every 3 rounds)…so increase + 2 rounds and THEN move gusset stitches off needles??? Or right after the increase??

Before the thumb gusset she instructs to inc 1 stitch at the end of the round, leaving me with (in my case) 49 stitches. After the gusset stitches are taken off the needle I still have 49 stitches since the increased stitch is not in the thumb gusset. Clear so far? Well then she instructs to CO a stitch to close up the thumb gusset gap on the next round and says that my total stitches should then be 49. But I already had 49, it should be 50 now right? Is this a typo or am I misunderstanding something??
Thanks!
