Handspun Shawl from my shetland ewe

I just finished the knitting portion of this shawl, so excited! I tried to spin as thin as I could, but don’t think its quite lace weight. Used size 4 circular needles from pattern I bought from Fiddlesticks. Still need to block it, but couldn’t wait to share!

Thanks!
Jen

Welcome to KH! The shawl is so pretty, can’t wait to see it blocked! I love that you spin your own yarn for it :yay:

Your spinning is perfect, and the shawl is just beautiful. I love the natural colors. Please post pics when it’s blocked.

Oh, my, how I envy you!
You’re living my dream.
That shawl is just gorgeous!

How exciting!:yay: Looks like the shawl is beautiful - can’t wait to see it after it’s been blocked!!

Wow, it looks gorgeous, and there is real pride on his/her face. LOL Great job.

Shawl is gorgeous and so’s the ewe

Ohh la la! I just love the photo sequence, from animal, to yarn, to finished garment!!! Too cool! Thanks for that!

The shawl is tremendous!!!

It looks beautiful!!!

So you did this yourself from the sheep up? Fantastic!! I’ll bet more than one of us would like to have wool on the hoof, but I don’t think I have the husbandry skills to pull it off. LOL When you get that blocked it will be transformed. It is going to be even more beautiful. Congratuations on a great undertaking carried off well! And welcome to KH.

That’s gorgeous! Great job!

That color is so gorgeous! I have really been excited about yarns in their natural color lately and that piece really inspires me. Plus the idea that there are still people out there who are still working something from start to finish is awesome. Please post a photo after it’s blocked.

Love the shawl, love the yarn, but your ewe has the most beautiful face!

I too hope you post a picture of the shawl once you have blocked it.

How lovely that you can raise your own wool.

How nice that you have your own supply of yarn chomping contentedly in the back yard, so to speak… :teehee:
Love the patterning in the shawl as well.
Beautiful!:yay:
