I have been wanting to hand paint yarn and have seen it done with a variation of things from natural items to food dyr to kool aid and clothing dyes of different sorts so that’s awesome to know there are all kinds of ways to dye yarn.
My question is, which might expand into more questions, can I successfully dye a yarn made from:
50% Merino
25% Nylon (Polyamide)
25% Bamboo
I haven’t dyed yarn so others will have to help. Some yarns require chemical dyes and some natural so that may make a difference. Then again, it may just make the strands of different fibers color differently which may be beautiful. :think:
Has anyone else had any luck with dying this type of yarn? If so, what kind of dye did you use and were the results what you were wanting?
