Good stitch for bulky yarn?

Hi! I’m a beginner and I would like to knit a baby blanket and matching hat- I have some DK merino yarn and some bulky (size 11 needles) yarn that has a "bumpy texture to it. What kinds of stitch patterns are better for what types/ weight of yarns- eg cable? fisherman? etc.
Thanks!

I forget who said “If the yarn is fancy, make the stitches plain”, but it’s good advice. You wouldn’t notice a lot of fancy stitching with bumpy fuzzy yarn, so why bother? The finer and smoother the yarn, the better stitch patterns will show up.

If the yarn is a thick and think one, or boucle, that forms a texture itself, so use plain stockinette (with a border for the blanket), or seed stitch or wide ribbing, like 3x3.

I just finished a baby blanket using a thick yarn and I used a “basket” stitch pattern. The pattern I used was on the Lion Brand website called “Glamour - Baby’s First Blanket” It turned out well – the stitch pattern doesn’t show up as much as it would with a finer yarn, but it is still noticeable and subtle.
