I’m new to your knitting forum. Have been knitting basic stitches and easy patterns for years. This time I have been knitting a free pattern for chunky yarn - a child’s hooded jacket from the love.knitting forum. I’ve already had to omit the concealed pockets as I’ve wasted hours trying to join linings without any success. Now I have finished back and sleeves and am trying to decrease for armholes on the fronts. The decreasing looks awful and doesn’t match the sleeves at all. It is all lumpy and bumpy. This is my 5th try. Has anyone else tried this pattern? I think it’s Robin wool.
Welcome to Knitting Help!
Can you tell us the name of your pattern and provide a link if possible? (Don’t post the pattern itself here in the forum it’s a copyright violation)
Name of my pattern is ‘HOODED TOP AND JACKET’ in Robin Chunky from the loveknitting site. Copyright www.tbramsden.co.uk
I think I have worked out how to do the shaping for the front raglan armhole shaping now. However, the pockets are a mystery. My little granddaughter specified pockets so I think I’ll knit them separately and sew on patch pockets. As I haven’t followed the pattern to include pockets it has changed the front edges. I’m spending more time unpicking than knitting.
Thanks for replying to my request.
