Good basic men's cardigan

I am looking for a basic men’s cardigan. Has anyone made the one from knitting pure and simple? What other patterns do you recommend?

I REALLY like the men’s zip-up raglan in Last Minute Knitted Gifts. In fact, I just might make it for myself one of these days.

I have not made it yet but I just got the Knitting Pure & Simple pattern for the crew nect and V neck Cardigan. It is totally the easiest pattern I’ve ever read.
