Furry Fun

The instructions are not clear after row6. It goes from 24 STS TO 36 STS. But it don’t say how to increase 12 STS. They had you knitting into front and back of stitches. Help

Hello

What is the name/number and publisher of your pattern?

There is an error in the row numbers but it looks like the increases and stitch counts will work if you rename the rows. Row 7 has been missed which is perhaps just a typo, row 9 is 7, 11 is 9, and so on. Row labeled 19 will be renamed row 17 so you will need to knit 17 and 19 and 20.

The instruction for row 7 (labeled row 9) will increase 12 sts from 24 to 36

K1, inc repeat these 2 sts 12 times. That will use 24 stitches and will increase 12.

The increase is as before kfb. So, k1, kfb, k1, kfb, k1, kfb and keep going like that.

I hope this helps

On row 9, you repeat the instructions inside the *’s.

So you k1, k1 f&b. Ie you only knit the increase on alternate stitches.

The pattern isn’t especially clear. In addition to the missing Row 7, there is usually an indication of where to stop repeating. In this case, you repeat from the asterisk * to the semi-colon ; . I feel it would be more clear with asterisks on each side of the repeat, but different publishers use different styles.

How come everyone else can get an asterisk to work in their reply? I daren’t type an asterisk because it usually does something annoying with my text. Like that. Hmph, feeling left out of the asterisk gang.

Try putting a space between the asterisk and any text. An asterisk is a signal to convert to italics. italics or * text *
