I am a new knitter and want to use fun fur to knit a scarf. I cast on and tried to knit a row but the eyelashes are making a tangled mess. Any tips?
Fun fur is notoriously a pain to work with. On the plus side, any mistakes are pretty much hidden. After a few rows, you can rub your hands on it to make the lashes stand out more, or they’ll pretty much pop out on their own as it gets handled. Make sure you use large needles with it though, even though the strand in the middle is thin.
Hi! I am a very new knitter myself. I’ve been playing around with some fun fur to see if I could do anything with it. I’ve found that if you combine it with a strand of plain yarn and knit the two together, you can see the stitches on the needle better. (I still can’t see them in the work) Also using the bigger needles is indeed a good idea. I haven’t actually made anything with them, just a small swatch.
And lets hope you don’t drop a stich it’s virtually impossible to pick it up again!
I have been playing around with this fun fur stuff too (I’m guessing it’s the same as it does look like eyelashes
and I appreciate the tip about the big needles!
I thought it was just me and my inexperience that made me unravel the lot when I found the knitting had slipped off the needle, I take heart that old hands would have trouble too
… well I say slipped, my son said he was making spiderman out of it…
:tap:
:roflhard:
