FO: Worsted Weight Socks - Lion Wool

I’ve made several pairs of handknit socks, but only have two pair of my own. And one of them is starting to wear away. So, I’ve decided to knit a pair of worsted weight socks to wear around the house.

I’m using Lion Wool yarn that I got on sale at Hobby Lobby for a few dollars a skein. Great deal!

I’m almost finished with the first sock:

Here’s the pattern I’m using, from the Sweaterscapes website.

I did a stockinette heel instead, because it feels more comfortable to me with my wide feet. I also switched to stockinette for part of the leg as well. Same reason - comfort.

It’s looking great, Sandy! Love that color!:inlove:

Pretty and very warm looking! Good idea using worsted for house socks.

The great thing about worsted weight socks, they take no time at all to knit up. The color is lovely also!

Thanks everyone!
The color is “Sage Green”. I’m looking forward to wearing them.

Looks wonderful, Sandy! One of these days, I’m gonna get on the SOCK BANDWAGON! I feel I am missing the boat!

:happydance: Looking good!

Love them! I’m gonna have to try that pattern. Love that color you’re using!

Thank you for the encouragement, everyone!

You really should try it, Dollyce. After you turn the first heel, you’ll be grinning like a little girl. They are REALLY FUN to make!

you’ve got a great start.

looks really nice!! I like that color-handmade house socks are the best

How many stitches do you cast on for that weight of yarn Sandy? I’ve been thinking about making some too from LB worsted. Your sock looks great BTW.

Here’s the pattern I’m using, from the Sweaterscapes website.

I cast on 44 stitches, using the instructions for size Large. I have wide feet, so I think it will work well for me.

its nice …kip it up

Thanks for the link.

They look great! Thanks for posting the pattern. I’ve always wanted to do socks but would rather start off with something worsted wt.

Thanks for the pattern. I’ve bookmarked it. I’m thinking it’s time I tried something other than Silver’s Sock Class socks… indebted to her as I am…:teehee:
