See, that is the size I’m looking for in my tote bag (purse size)…in fact, I ordered the pattern after you suggested it…I don’t want a big bag…I have some that I sewed and quilted for that. I want a smaller tote.
Thanks! I just measured and if you stretch it out flat it’s about 8.5 in wide and about 9 in tall if you measure to the “fold” part.
Here’s the deal I forgot to mention and I can hear Ingrid’s “trust the pattern” in the back of my mind… When I started it seemed WAY too big so I shorted the width by 20 stitches and the height by oh I don’t know how many, maybe 10 rows, but apparently it was fine for the width. So had I “trusted the pattern” I would have my tote. :roflhard:
Why thank you! What do you mean you ordered it…I got it out of a magazine…? It’s actually okay I guess for a very small project…like a dishcloth, but it’s better for a purse.
It is just darling! I wasn’t crazy about the color combination in the unfelted picture, but now I see that they look fantastic. You did a great job! :cheering:
Wow…thanks everyone! I’m working on some dishcloths for Christmas now, but am looking for something new to do, too. I have a thread in the pattern forum about looking for a purse pattern if you know of any.
It’s obvious that you have an artist’s eye … just beautiful color choices. I really like the way the handles attach. They almost look like they have leaves on the ends of them.
