FO -UPDATE tote bag

Ooooh, Nice!!! :cheering: :cheering: :cheering:

See, that is the size I’m looking for in my tote bag (purse size)…in fact, I ordered the pattern after you suggested it…I don’t want a big bag…I have some that I sewed and quilted for that. I want a smaller tote.

You do such great work!

Thanks! I just measured and if you stretch it out flat it’s about 8.5 in wide and about 9 in tall if you measure to the “fold” part.

Here’s the deal I forgot to mention and I can hear Ingrid’s “trust the pattern” in the back of my mind… When I started it seemed WAY too big so I shorted the width by 20 stitches and the height by oh I don’t know how many, maybe 10 rows, but apparently it was fine for the width. So had I “trusted the pattern” I would have my tote. :roflhard:

Why thank you! What do you mean you ordered it…I got it out of a magazine…? It’s actually okay I guess for a very small project…like a dishcloth, but it’s better for a purse.

Oops!

I was thinking this was the Oregon Tote! They look very similar.

That looks very very nice!

Do you think you’re going to make another one in different colors, but trust the pattern the second time around?

Heh! Yeah, I think I probably will eventually. Thanks!

JAN…ITS GORGEOUS!!! :inlove:

It is just darling! I wasn’t crazy about the color combination in the unfelted picture, but now I see that they look fantastic. You did a great job! :cheering:

I really like the handles, very nice touch

:happydance: Great Job I love the colors!!!

I think it’s lovely…a terrific bag

Wow! That looks amazing. I love, love, love, the colors!!

Love it!

wow, jan that is gorgeous!

That turned out great! Perfect shaping, wow!! :cheering:

that looks AWESOME!

Wow…thanks everyone! I’m working on some dishcloths for Christmas now, but am looking for something new to do, too. I have a thread in the pattern forum about looking for a purse pattern if you know of any.

Jan –

It’s obvious that you have an artist’s eye … just beautiful color choices. I really like the way the handles attach. They almost look like they have leaves on the ends of them.
