I finished another one of these little sunhats for my son the other day. This is an “un-pattern” or recipe I came up with myself. It’s done top-down all in one piece in the round. It makes for a very simple and quick project, and can be easily adapted for different sizes and gauges. And they work really well as sunhats–he wears them playing outside all the time. I first tried some similar patterns on ravelry but then changed a few things, and particularly the cord around the crown was my own innovation. The crochet cord allows the hat to fit snuggly on any head so it’s one-size-fits-most and you can get maximum use out of it as a child grows (quickly)!
Awww that is adorable!
Cute hat. Love the colors too.
