FO--Shawl

This was my project for the Knitting Olympics, the Diamond Fantasy Shawl. There are a lot of mistakes, but I decided not to worry about that early on. The yarn was so sticky that sometimes two stitches looked like one…I got much better at catching it, but it took a while.

The pattern is awesome…gets ***** Cheryl rating :roflhard: Seriously though…it rocks and you do the edging as you go. Much better than picking up stitches and adding the border at the end. I intend to make another one soon!

Oh Cheryl, I love your shawl. What yarn was it?
I do dearly love lace knitting. :inlove:

The yarn is Karabella Gossamer. Beautiful but sticky and needed some getting use to. My previous lace experience was with sock yarn…totally different than this. The gossamer is $$$ but really beautiful when you see it in person.

Very beautiful!! :inlove: Lace knitting is on my ‘things to do’ list, and after seeing this, I may move it closer to the top!

That’s a gorgeous shawl! I think your gray doggy thinks it’s for him coz it’s gray too.

:roflhard: :roflhard: I didn’t notice before but they do kind of match! The last think he needs though is to have something to make him warmer…he’s a siberian husky!

It’s beautiful! So is the dog!

That’s a beautiful shawl!! :inlove:

Kempy…its absolutely BEAUTIFUL!!!

As I said before on your blog…it is just gorgeous!! Stunning! I hope someday that I can knit something so beautiful!

Thanks, y’all! I’m so glad you’re able to overlook the mistakes! I can’t wait to make it again…this time, much more perfect.

Oh, that is stunningly beautiful!! :notworthy: :notworthy:

Much more perfect next time? How much more perfect can you get?!

It’s those ‘mistakes’ or ‘imperfections’ that make it unique though

That’s stunning,
Would love to attempt that,
too bad it’s not a free pattern.

Hazel x

Nope, not free, but so worth it. Easy to follow and produces beautiful results if you keep better track of the pattern/sticky little stitches than I did.

Kemp, it’s gorgeous! Sure wish it was a free pattern! But I may have to break down and just buy it. I love the fact that the border is knitted as you go!

I agree…I can’t imagine having to knit the border afterwards!

Oh, I just love lace shawls! I want one SOOOO bad. I have some fine alpaca yarn that I want to use for making one. I’m just having a hard time choosing a pattern.

You did a wonderful job on your shawl. I’m impressed!

Beautiful shawl Cheryl! I kept hearing about this pattern and seeing it done and was hoping it was free. It is not. But, I broke down and purchased it anyway. I have some great yarn coming from a co-op that I am in and am dying to use it for this. I may hit you up with questions when the time comes.

Absolutely beautiful!! What a stunning KO project!
