This is the Rockefeller Sweater by Wenlan Chia from Twinkle’s Big City Knits. I used Organic Cotton by Blue Sky Alpacas. I used 3 strands held together to get gauge, with size 17 needles.
This is a Christmas present for my twin. She can’t have any wool, it makes her itch so I used cotton.
My modification: instead of knitting sleeves separately and sewing together, I seamed the shoulders together and I picked up 17 stitches at the armhole and worked the sleeve in the round. Once I got to the forearm, I decreased 2 stitches, 13 rows later I decreased 2 stitches, then I began the ribbing.
I made the modification because I used cotton and other people had complained about the bulky seams. The cotton wouldn’t have the give of wool or alpaca and I wanted this to be comfortable, it worked. The armhole is very comfortable now.
So woo hoo. Another Christmas present done!!
