FO - Mitered Ballband Washcloth

Most of y’all are probably familiar with the Mason Dixon Ballband Dishcloth pattern (available here, for free).

Well, I love my knit washcloths, and I am desperate for more, so I decided to knit a couple of new ones. I figured the ballband texture would be great for scrubbing.

Here’s the cloth I made, using the original pattern:

I used size 4 needles, taking advantage of the Peaches 'n Creme in Cornflower and Hot Green that I had in my stash.

While I was pattern hunting, I noticed one for a Mitered Ballband Dishcloth (a free Ravelry download available here). It’s a very cool take on the original, so of course I had to knit one…

For this cloth, I used Hot Orange and Hot Green (Peaches 'n Creme), again on size 4 needles.

I am so happy! Two more washcloths!

Very cute and practical!

Must now make a Mitered Ball Band. I did not know that variation was out there.

Good job!

I agree, that is one cool pattern! I’ve done the original several times (Christmas colors-like a chimney), but this variation is calling my name.

Awesome! I just checked out the mason-dixon book from the library and was eyeing that pattern. I used to be biased against dishcloths as knitting projects, but I’ve changed my opinion now! How fun!

These are perfectly delightful! I especially like the new spin on it, the mitered dishcloth! Great work! Thanks for sharing! I’ve always loved this particular style of dishcloth. I should get off my hiney and make a couple for myself. I’ve got some Sugar 'n Cream stashed somewhere!

What cute washcloths! You did such a great job! I love both; now I feel the need to cast on some washcloths too!

Those are great! Love the mitred variation! Really makes me wanna knit one, but I MUST finish 2 baby blankets (and by 7/14 - day of a dual baby shower) and I have totally been neglecting them

Love these!!! I will be losing my job this Friday. Now I know what I can do between hunting for a new job!

I am so sorry to hear about your job! I’ve been on that same hunt for a year and a half. Grrr. I’ve been subbing in the school system during this time, so I’ve had the last two summers off. GREAT time for knitting!!!

Thanks! Love the new spin on that pattern. I haven’t tried the original yet, but it’s certainly on my to do list!

I love that! thanks for pointing this out-yours look great, and I too am in need of some new dishcloths
