Here is the yarn that I dyed with KoolAid for my LYS to sell. It was so much fun to do! I also made the little tags for the yarns too!
FO: Hand Dyed Yarns
What BEAUTIFUL colors!! congrats on such wonderful yarn!!
These are really wonderful !!! Wish I could dye my own yarn. Just think you could make ANY color you wanted :happydance: LOVE the colors!!! You did a really nice job.People will be buying them faster then you can dye them
Oh my gosh those are so beautiful! I just love seeing people’s hand dyed yarn, it is like nothing you can buy.
Those are gorgeous! I have got to learn to do that!
Gorgeous!!
That is great yarn. Kool Aid really permanently dyes the yarn?? Thats amazing. ( Its been years since I had a toddler and served kool aid…I guess I dont remember the permanent stains it left!)
I see I have to investigate this. I love your colors .
Cindy
Wow!! :cheering: That yarn is gorgeous!!! My DH was in a yarn store yesterday admiring Manos and all the other hand dyed yarns…beautiful!!!
Beautiful colors! I’d be all over that yarn if it was in my LYS!
These are gorgeous!!! Can you tell us what yarn you use?
Absolutely beautiful. I would never guess that was kool aid dyed. Everytime I have used kool aid I have gooten soch bright vivid colors. Not those beautiful muted colors. Great job! I would buy those if they were in my LYS.
Beautiful! I have some natural yarn coming in the next week or two from a co-op I am in and I want to dye it. I am so afraid of messing it up that I might stick to a solid color the first time. Your colors are great!!! How did you learn to do that? Did you use a book or take a class or just wing it?
That is beautiful!! Great job
Those are very pretty.
The tags are a great addition.
Finally, a good use for Kool Aid. :roflhard:
Those look wonderful!! The colors are great!
Absolutely love the colors!! , just from seeing yours, it makes me want to start dying my own, but my friend’s hand dyed yarn always comes out really bright, how did you get yours so soft colored?
Just beauitful! I bet it goes quickly!
Thanks everyone!
Wildforyarn - I found the directions in the winter issue of creative knitting magazine. It is really simple! You use vinegar along with the koolaid and cooking it in the microwave sets the color so it won’t wash out!
The yarn is the natural fingering weight from knitpicks.
fancypolar - I got some of the soft colors just by experimenting with mixing flavors…no exact recipe, just a drop or two of this, a dab of that and a splash of another…
Danielle, the yarn is GORGEOUS!! I’d be drooling over it if it was at my LYS! I love the tags too- very professional.
what gorgeous colors!!!
